Hi I'm Ben

I grew up in southern CA. I'm a kid at heart. I'm the father of 5 great kids. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work for an information technology company and sell managed print services. I enjoy spending time with my family and working and playing outdoors when I can. I have a desire to play the piano one day and dust off my old Porsche to really make it something for show. I enjoy seeing my kids play sports and try to keep up with them, which I find very hard to do at times.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in high school and my early college years I was introduced to the church through a good friend of mine. Before he went on to serve a full-time mission for the church I was introduced to a girl, who's now my wife. We dated for quite a few months before she also decided to serve a full-time mission as well. This left me alone to reflect upon many things. I asked myself how can these two young people be so dedicated to leave everything behind and serve? As I thought about this and many other things that were being shared with me, I came to realize I had to ask God if the the things I was being taught were true. I recall one evening praying alone, really for the first time in my life. Getting on my knees and asking God if the church was true? Never had I had a feeling such as what came over me. It was strong enough and real enough that I could not deny that everything I had been taught really was true. The following morning I remember calling the missionaries. They didn't know me. When I told them I wanted to become a member of the church and be baptized, I think I probably threw them for a loop. A year later I was fortunate enough to also serve a mission as well. I realized why my good friends would want to serve. It was truly a blessing to serve the people in Detroit, Michigan. I came home two years later and got married to that girl of mine who was and is my best friend. The Church is true. And I am fortunate enough to be a member of it. Jesus Christ is the savior of the world and I am grateful and blessed to know this.

How I live my faith

I get to work with the full-time missionaries in our area. I also have the opportunity to home teach and visit a few families once per month to see how they are doing and share a short message with them. Being a member of my ward gives me the opportunity to serve and help others.
