Hi I'm Brandon

I enjoy being involved in theatre, making movies, and paleontology. I am a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school graduate who enjoyed participating in our theatre program. I really like acting and have done it for several years. I recently tried directing a show, which was a lot of fun! I am also interested in paleontology, or the study of ancient life--like dinosaurs. However, my thoughts regarding a career are currently to pursue being a seminary teacher. Seminary is a program that the Church has to teach youth about Jesus Christ. It is held during the school week and is a class that many LDS students take. I have also been called to serve a mission for the Church. I am excited to serve and have an opportunity to teach people in another place about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are Mormons, and have been their whole lives. I was taught as a child about Jesus and I continue to follow His teachings. I know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's church on Earth today because I have prayed about it and felt the Spirit of God tell me that it is. I have also prayed about the Book of Mormon. When I read the Book of Mormon, I feel good. This feeling comes because the book is true. As I read, I also feel the Spirit of God helping me to learn from what I read. I have also prayed and asked to know that the Book of Mormon is true, and I have felt the Spirit of God tell me that it is true. I also know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ as a fourteen-year-old boy, and that he was a prophet of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet for our day. I also know that Jesus Chirst is my Savior. He came to the Earth to suffer for my sins, and for the sins of everyone else. He did this in the Garden of Gethsemene and on the cross. Three days after He died, he was raised from the dead. This makes it possible for me to live again after I die. The knowledge that I have of these things is important to me. Because of these things, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to do what Christ wants me to do. He wants me to follow His teachings. I try to do this anywhere that I am. I have also organized activities for the youth in my church congregation, such as service projects. One such service project was cleaning up people's yards in a community of people who asked for the help. I also teach families in our congregation about Christ in their homes. I do my best to be an example of what Christ teaches me to do in all that I do. Another way to live my faith is by being a missionary. I have been called to serve as a missionary and am excited to have an opportunity to share my beliefs with others and teach them about Jesus Christ.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Brandon
Just like in Bible times, God has a prophet to lead and teach people. Today, the prophet is Thomas S. Monson. He can recieve revelation from God just like prophets of old. He is the person that God has appointed to lead His Church. He has two counselors that help him in this responsibility to lead the Church. These three men make up a group called the First Presidency of the Church. In addition to our prophet, we have twelve Apostles who have been called of God to teach the people, just like the Apostles that were called by Christ. These men are apostles and prophets. They make up a group called the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles recieve direction from God about how to lead the Church. Show more Show less
