Hi I'm James

I live in Arizona. I am pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at Arizona State university and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and a husband. I have a 18 month old boy named Dresden. My wife, Chris is a dedicated stay at home mother to our beautiful son. I am currently pursuing a degree in chemical engineering to provide better for our growing family. Me and my wife Chris are so thankful for our little boy and all the joy he brings into our lives. Dresden has grown with constant love and affection from his mother into a happy, cheerful toddler full of love. every night before bed we have family prayer and thank heavenly father for all of our blessings and for each other.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born in the church I have had my own conversion. Growing up in the church I had learned about Joseph Smith, how he was called of God to be a prophet and restore his church upon the earth. I had learned how God commanded him to translate the Book of Mormon from ancient records. However there came a time in my teenage years when I needed to know for myself whether or not these teachings were true. having learned that I could pray to our Heavenly Father and receive answers, this is what I decided to do. I received my answer that Joseph Smith was indeed God's prophet and was called to restore his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This gave me my testimony and what strengthens me everyday to try to live my life more like Christ's.

How I live my faith

I try to read my scriptures everyday. I find that when I read them my mind is more often turned to thoughts of God and what he would have me do and what he would have me become. I am not perfect but I try each day to be a little better. sometimes I succeed, some days I do not. I am trying to study more about charity, the pure love of Christ. I am trying to make that an attribute of mine. every week in church we have lessons that cover a wide variety of topics. each week I try to internalize these messages. sometimes these lessons are about how to be more like Christ. sometimes they are about how to be a better father or husband. sometimes they are about how to be a better person (humility, thankfulness, etc.) each time they give me an area to focus on and to learn. I have taught in our children's classes, which we call primary. this is always a special blessing. the children love learning about Jesus and how much he loves us, and his sacrifice for us. I enjoy the privilege to teach them.
