Hi I'm Roger M

I was born and raised in the northwest. I run a landscape and excavating business. I love the action. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have many interests and talents that God has given me. When I was younger I discovered I was mechanically inclined and interested in how things work. In high school, I became proficient in welding and I loved engineering and architecture. When I graduated high school, my sweetheart and I had plans to get married after my mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; of which, we did. I have held several jobs in different fields, which would include structural welding, aviation mechanic for Boeing and United Airlines. Then I moved into semi-truck driving for 12 years. Now, my wife and I, operate a landscape maintenance and landscape construction business. I love the action and the creating. My favorite hobby is water sports/boating with my family and friends. My fun is watching them have fun. I have been blessed with 10 wonderful children and a beautiful wife. We have 7 grandchildren to date and they are a blast! I am sure there are many more to come, which we are looking forward too.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Washington State. Ever since I was a young child, I always felt that God loved me as an individual and that always made it easy for me to go to church. Still, today, I love attending our church services. I look forward to them. Every time I'm there, I can feel God and Jesus Christ's love and desire for me to return to live with them. As I grew up and began to learn the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ and how Joseph Smith restored Jesus Christ's teachings to the earth in these modern days, along with proper priesthood authority, I felt the Holy Spirit of God tell me on many occasions, and still today, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and he was chosen by God to restore the teachings and priesthood authority for our time. I know Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, which is a companion witness to the Bible. I've read the Book of Mormon and I have felt the Holy Spirit of God tell me that it is the true word of God, along with the Bible. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer; and His atoning sacrifice allows you and I to repent of our sins. I know this is true. I love and know that our current prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, is a true and living prophet of God today. I want to bear my witness to you that the Holy Spirit of God (or the Holy Ghost) is real. I feel Him guide and direct me daily about family, business, and my personal life. Without the knowledge I have, I would feel empty and wonder why I am here and what I am supposed to accomplish on the earth. But, thankfully, I was blessed with the opportunity to be baptized at the age of eight; and have learned where I came from, why I am here, where I am going, and how to get there. I pray that you will be touched by the Holy Ghost, like I have been, and can gain a belief in knowledge like I have. I know you would be happier because I am. I leave this witness with you in the name of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending our weekly services, partaking of the sacrament, and being obedient to the Lord's commandments. I read my scriptures and pray daily. I currently teach the teenage boys in our congregation on Sundays and do activities on Wednesdays. We are also a scouting troop, so we go on campouts, hikes, and trips of various nature. I have a lot of fun with the boys in our sports programs as well. This is a great opportunity to help these boys grow and develop their own testimonies of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, and the Bible. I am grateful for the opportunity to help the boys identify and develop their own skills, talents, and interests. This is an important calling to me because I know these boys will be the future leaders in the church, businesses, and maybe even in the government. My son and I are assigned to families in our congregation to visit every month. We do this to teach the families and to check in with them and see how their lives are going; and if they need any help. We report back to our bishop. I also live my faith by attending our temple with my wife and making a higher level of committment with the Lord in returning to live with Him. I try to do my best to help teach my family about the ways of the Lord and the importance of being worthy to attend the temple, which is the house of the Lord. I have had many opportunities to use my priesthood to baptize, bless and heal others. I know that the priesthood I hold comes from God; and I live worthily to be able to use this priesthood power and authority to serve and benefit others.
