Hi I'm Desirèe

I grew up in Maryland. I'm a Social Work Major. I LOVE my family. I LOVE my church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 24 and multiracial. I live with my mom, brother and sister. I have one sister who lives with her mom and a brother who lives with my dad, both are in Ohio and I have a brother who passed away 8/25/2010. I am the oldest. I love to sing and dance. I love photography it relaxes me. I attend church regularly and am currently assigned as a Relief Society Teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 8, so I have always been a member of the church. While growing up my family shifted between being active and nonactive. When we moved to Chester, MD, my brother who's since passed saw elder missionaries, invited them over, and we went to church, however we didn't feel as comfortable as we did in our old ward (we moved into a branch). We stopped going for a year until the sister missionaries came by and we've been going ever since. When my brother passed away at the age of 14, it was the gospel and plan of salvation that kept me going to church, and still keeps me going. It made me look at my life and realize I need to work on somethings so I can get to the temple and when my time comes, i know for sure I can see my best friend again. I'm a Mormon because I love how they make you feel like you're family, they look out for you, they have a STRONG sense of family, and I have been to other churches, and have never felt the spirit like I do when I'm at my church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by telling others about the Latter Day Saint religion and answering any questions they have. I always correct someone when they begin talking about the church and mistating facts. I have also helped get some people back on track to going to church again as well as brought some people to the church. I always help others and will do my all to see them get through life.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

Well obviously there are not any restrictions on race or color or I wouldn't be on here LOL. On a serious note though, there really aren't any restrictions, anyone can join our church or come for a visit. While I used to be uncomfortable because majority of the churches ethnic group is caucasian, I have come to learn that we are no different. We're all children of our Heavenly Father.
