Hi I'm Lincoln

I was born and raised in Arizona, I'm a student, I'm a computer enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student studying computer science at a local university in Arizona. I am putting myself through school by working as a support specialist for a software company. I am single but I hope to one day start a family. Growing up I was part of a large family. The size of my family is due to the fact that my parents divorced when I was very young. Both my mother and father have been remarried more than once since then and as a result I have a quite a few step siblings. I have been fortunate enough to have parents who have taught me to be honest and to work hard. I enjoy playing racquetball, watching movies, and going on an occasional hike. I love music, especially singing and playing the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was taught from the time I was born to go to church every Sunday and to always obey the commandments as the church teaches. It was not until my high school years that I realized that I would have to make a decision regarding the Church. I realized that the habits I had formed with regards to spiritual things were a result of what my parents taught me. I knew that my parents wanted me to be a member of the LDS church but I came to ask myself, What do I want for myself? Do I really believe in the same things my parents believe? Do I want to be a member of the Mormon church? Does God really live? Will my choices today have any difference after death? These questions caused me to begin to look for a way that I could know for myself if the things I had been taught were true or not. The answers for me did not come quickly or without a lot of effort. I knew that the Mormon church was "good" but I did not know if it was the "true church." I searched and prayed for many years before I found my answers. In a meeting for the young people of the church I came to feel deep within myself that everything I had been taught was true. That is how I first came to know that the Mormon church is the true church. Over the years I have felt over and over again that same feeling until all doubt has been erased from my mind and heart. Why am I a Mormon? Because I now know for myself that God and Jesus Christ live. Jesus Christ is my Savior. He lives and loves me. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's true church on the earth. Not because my parents have told me, not because the Mormon church has told me but because I know within myself that it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always trying to be the best person I can be. I try my hardest to follow the example of Jesus Christ and I hope that tomorrow I will be one step closer to being more like Christ than I am today. I live my faith by loving my family, by being honest and looking for ways I can reach out to help and serve people around me. I live my faith by learning what my Heavenly Father wants me to do through praying and reading the scriptures. Then I do my best to the things he wants me to do.
