Why I am a Mormon

I can proudly say that I am a Mormon because I've put in work! I've read and prayed about The Book of Mormon, and then took matters into my own hands (as I do haha) and tried actually living the principles that Christ taught found in the scriptures. After doing that for some time, I saw and felt for myself how much happier I was when trying to live as Christ did. You never want that feeling of happiness and peace to leave you. I had a sure witness from the Holy Ghost, the third member of the Godhead, whose purpose is to teach us the truth of all things, that this is the one true church of Jesus Christ. He lives. In no other way could I have gained this knowledge but through study, experience, and prayer, all accompanied by the feelings and comfort of the Holy Ghost. The best part about it is that it can work for everyone! I know this is the true church. That is my solid testimony. That's why I'm a Mormon. It's simple to me. I just know it's true. I know Christ lives. The Atonement is real. It's only in and through Jesus Christ you can find peace, joy, direction and an everlasting hope. I've let the gospel enrich my life. It has the power for you to be the best version of yourself, and who wouldn't want that? It gives me hope. It gives me peace. And I SO need that in my life. Just like everyone does. "It's true isn't it? Then what else matters?" - President Gordon B. Hinckley

How I live my faith

Well I've been on both sides of this fence, living it and not living it as well as I should've, and from what I've experienced for myself, living my faith by living in harmony with Christ's teaching is the better and happier way. The best way. The only way...for true everlasting happiness. I try not to live with fear of being myself. I have amazing friends. We love and support each other regardless of what we believe. I'm never afraid to talk about my beliefs or ask people to respect them, just as I'd respect theirs. I try to live my faith in everyday life. The choices you make every day slowly define who you are, so every day I try to live my faith by choosing to follow Jesus Christ, studying the scriptures, and praying every day. It starts with the little things. We are all imperfect, sometimes we fall down/make mistakes, but with the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can bounce back from those mistakes and the pains & hardships of life. Don't let anyone tell you you can't change! If I fall, I dust myself off & get back up. Why? Because I have faith and a sure knowledge of the reality of a living Savior, Jesus Christ and in His Atonement knowing it can heal me. It has healed me, time and time again. Peace and love are the world's hottest commodity. I gain peace and feel love when I put my trust in and obey God. I have faith and know that His love is ALWAYS there for me and for everyone. Faith without works is dead..so you gotta WORK for it son !

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Well, it's the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So in other words, it's Christ's church in the last or 'latter' days (AKA now). This is His church, so He leads and directs the work, including who the past, present, and future prophets and apostles will be. Show more Show less
