Hi I'm Emily

I am a student, I am a nanny, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student majoring in elementary education, I love working with children and seeing the joy and life they bring to all those around them. I enjoy playing soccer, watching movies, and shopping. In my spare time I spend it with my family or friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to this church and was baptized one year ago, I decided to make this change because I was lost in the world and felt as if I was going no where. I knew I needed a change and there was something more out there for me, I just did not know what it was. Before I was baptized my knowledge of the church was that Mormons were from Utah and nothing more. It was a girl I went to high school with that introduced me into the church, we had a class together in college, and she befriended me right away. What made me so interested in the gospel was that she never once pushed it upon me, she was just my friend. She also never made me feel bad and guilty for the way I was living my life even though I knew it was not how she lived her life. She invited me to do things as a friend and when I would ask questions about the church she would answer but she never once told me that the church was my answer to all my issues, even though it was. I would look at her and other members and see how happy they were, they seemed to know where they were going in life, what their next move was, and what they were supposed to be doing. I could not understand why they knew all this and were so happy when I was not. They did not fear or become discouraged when bad things happened to them, I wanted to know what could make someone this way. I started meeting with the missionaries even though I was not sure I wanted to; but there was something telling me I needed to. I tried to deny the truth of the gospel for a long time but the spirit was too powerful, and once feeling its joy I knew there was nothing else in the world I wanted more. Being the only one in my family who is a member they had their comment about it, but as time has gone on they have become more and more supportive realizing this is how my life is going to be. The gospel has only done good for my life and is the greatest gift I have ever been given, I am truly blessed to have this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday, and Family Home Evening on Monday. I also visit teach girls in my ward I am assigned too and do charitable work to those whom need it.
