Hi I'm James

I like spending time with family and friends. I love rugby and b-ball. I act on my faith and rely on Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 years old and I enjoy my life, famliy, friends and I have a grateful attitude towards life. I'm the oldest of four children, I am a fraternal twin though. I was born in Utah and moved to California for my dad's occupation when I was 2 months old. I'm a California kid! I grew up with a loving family and stay at home mom, which is one of the greatest blessing that a son could ever ask for. My mom has taught me most of the things that I know and I am grateful for her example in raising me with love. I have grown up playing almost all sports possible, but have found my love in playing basketball and rugby. I like to drive around and hang out with friends in my free time. This last year I attended college and I loved it! It was cool to get out of the house and experience taking care of myself. I learned that living at home with my parents was a little easier and more productive, even if I had to follow the rules of the house. Learning to become efficient in balancing time in life is hard, but we always have our parents there to help us along the way. In high school, I struggled with being social and after atteding college and living on my own has helped me become more of a man. I like to talk to people I don't know and just get to know them, what they care about in their life. When I attended college, I decided to play for a rugby team and that was a amazing experience. I learned from my coach and teammates about loving one another and the bond that all people have, family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I have come to the realization the truth. God loves us and has given us a way to return to heaven in never-ending happiness. I've grown up in the church, and as I've grown older, especially now, I can see that my faith in Christ and the gospel and doctrines of this church has shaped my life and how I look at life. I look at life with a brightness of hope because of my faith and I'm so grateful for the gospel in my life. I know that without this gospel in my life I would not know what to path to take. The doctrines and principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have helped direct me in the path I should take in my life to follow the teachings of Christ. I know that living the standards of the gospel and keeping the commandments of God only bring happiness. Through experiences in my life I have been able to learn and understand that the principles and standards of the gospel are for our benefit, to help us find purpose in life and know the wonderous things God wants for us. That they truly are given from a loving Heavenly Father. He sent His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ to atone for all our sins and sufferings. All trials, difficulties, weaknesses, challenges He suffered. Christ knows how to succor His people. He is the loving sheperd and we are His sheep. I testify of the veracity and power of the Atonement. It can heal any wound, there is no sin that is too hard for the back of the Savior to bear. All He asks is that we come unto Him, His hands are outstretched to us always. All we need is strong enough faith in Him to follow His example in being baptized and starting a new life striving to be like Him in all that we do. Believing in Him, relying on Him in our weakest hour, our strongest point, and always standing as witnesses of Him as the Savior as the world. I testify of the Savior, Redeemer, and the Son of the Almighty God. That He lives, that He loves each and every single soul on the Earth and He is Jesus the Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my by acting on it! In the Bible it says faith without works is dead. I live my life in a way where I can show my faith in the Savior. I strive to follow His teachings through all aspects of my life. Loving my neighbors and those around me. I had the opportunity in my younger years to travel to Honduras and provide humanitarian aid and dentistry work for the people there. I was a Boy Scout at this time and had a great opportunity to assemble care packages for children cancer patients in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. While on this trip, I was able to deliver these to the children. What a humbling and once in a lifetime experience. I could truly feel the love of God for us while serving these unfortunate children whose lives are changed forever because of the trial that they face in their life. When I am serving others I know I am serving the Lord as well because we are all His children. I know that God, Our Heavenly Father, smiles down upon us when we are serving others and I hope that I see the opporunities that I have to serve others. Living my Faith is believing in God as my Heavenly Father, showing my love for Him by keeping His commandment, and one of these is to serve and help the sick and afflicted, the poor, the lonely, the mourner, and invite all to taste of the love of God. This love is all encompassing, and I know that it is real for I have felt it many times in my life. I can feel it when I am willing and have a desire to keep God's commandments and serve others! I am a missionary serving a mission in Salvador, Brazil. I hope that I can serve all the people of Brazil with my whole heart and soul that I may bring them to know of the truthfulness of this gospel and that God loves the souls of all. I have the great opportunity and it is a great blessing to serve the Lord by sharing my testimony with others!
