Hi I'm Walter Day

I live in Nebraska with my wife, we are raising three of our grandchildren and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I raised four daughters and are currently raising three of our 6 grandchildren. It is a challenge having three young kids in our home again. This is the first time I've had a boy in our home so now I will get to experience cub scouts. I helped my grandson make his first ever pinewood derby car, he was excited when he got first place in his pack. My wife and I have been married for 24 years this year. I attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska to get a degree in machine tool and enjoy working in industrial settings watching otherwise useless materials become something of value.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the church I didn't get a testimony until I was in my late teens when a friend challenged me to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. I still remember being in my bedroom late one night and getting on my knees and asking my Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true, I received an answer that I can never deny. I knew that if that book was true then Joseph Smith was indeed a true prophet of God. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and answers my prayers. I feel it's a privilege to live the principles of the gospel not a burden, and it brings many blessing into my life and to our family.

How I live my faith

I have served in leadership positions and many other callings in the church and currently share the opportunity of teaching Sunday school for the adults in our ward. I say my prayers daily to thank my Heavenly Father for all the blessings He has given me.
