Hi I'm Cam

I'm a regular college student. I love to ski, I love to laugh, and I was once a dancing polar bear.

About Me

I love to smile and I love to laugh. They're probably my favorite things to do and they always seem to leave me happier and more content than I was before. I I love my family more than I could possibly express and being born into their family was probably the best thing that's ever happened to me. If you've ever met them, you probably already know why! They're goofy, they're funny, and we get along fantastically! I'm currently a full time student at Brigham Young University studying exercise science. I have high hopes of one day becoming a doctor so that I can learn to help others in the same ways that I have so often been blessed by the hands of caring medical professionals. However, just because I'm a full time student doesn't mean that I don't find time to have fun! I love to ski and I'm a big fan of baking. I even find time to ride dirtbikes and play guitar. The highlight of my life so far has been to serve a two year mission for the church in Sao Paulo Brazil and meet many wonderful, faith filled individuals. Over the course of many years I have learned to appreciate the little miracles life has to offer and strive to always keep my eyes out for them!

Why I am a Mormon

Because it brings me joy! The gospel of Jesus Christ is a road map for our lives and our eternal success. By living the gospel, aka Christ's teachings, we draw closer to God and recognize Him, not as a distant Creator, but as a very real and concerned Father who love us! I grew up in the church and have been going to Sunday school for as long as I can remember. I never really questioned why I needed to be doing those things, I only knew that they were important and that I felt good doing them. I didn't know it then, but have come to recognize since, that the good feelings I received as I prayed, read scriptures, and tried to serve others, were confirmations from the Lord that what I was doing was right. He was showing me the pathway to a better, more fruitful life. The sense of happiness and contentment that I’ve received through living the gospel, has been an incredible strength to me as the years go by. It has helped me to come to know that I am a literal son of my Heavenly Father, who knows and cares for me. He is always there for me, not in a metaphorical sense, but in a very literal and involved kind of way. He is there to pick me up, dust me off, and send me out with courage to face the dawn of a new day. With that kind of comforting reassurance I have been able to face some of my hardest trials with confidence. My life has been exponentially blesses as I have tried to live according to the Savior’s teachings and I know that the same can be true for you!

How I live my faith

Simply by doing the best I can! I'm not a perfect person, nor do I claim to be, but I do claim to be a happy one. This happiness has come through a greater understanding of who I am in God's plan. I realize that I'm not just anyone, but that I'm one of the key players! And if I am a key player then I can't just sit around on the sidelines watching the world go by as I do nothing! I do my best to live as the Savior would, not necessarily going around preaching everyday, although I did do that for two years, but by serving those around me. By bringing smiles to their faces and taking the time to listen when maybe no one else would. I believe that the best examples of service that Christ left for us were through the simple acts of kindness that He performed on a daily basis. His sincerity and love made all the difference in the lives of those who were struggling, or simply felt misunderstood. We never know what someone is feeling, or what they might be going through, but God does! It's my strong belief that He will use average people, like you and me, to perform mini, but mighty miracles in the lives of His children each and everyday if we will just look for and try to recognize those opportunities!
