Hi I'm Josh

I grew up in a small town in Ohio, I went to school at BYU, and I am currently working at USAA in San Antonio. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a degree from BYU in Information Technology and I work at USAA in San Antonio. I am married and I have 2 kids. I am also working on my masters degree at UTSA. I enjoy running and I am getting in shape for a Tough Mudder competition in October. I also enjoy hiking/camping and I volunteer with the Boy Scouts.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been asked many times throughout my life why I am a Mormon and what made me decide to stay a Mormon, especially since most of my family members are inactive. The only reason I go to church is because I know it is true. When I was 14 I was about ready to give up church and all its rules, but I finally decided that I would give the church one honest attempt at finding out if it was true. I ready the Book of Mormon and I prayed to find out if it were true. I told the Lord that if he were able to convince me it were true I would follow the gospel for my whole life. While I was praying sincerely to know if the Book of Mormon was true (which also means Joseph Smith was a prophet and the Mormon church is Christ's true church today), I felt an indescribable feeling of comfort, peace, and happiness come over me. It is hard to describe but you will know it if you feel it. From that point on I decided I would be living a lie if I didn't live what I knew was true. That is not to say I haven't made my share of mistakes, but since that day I have always known when I was doing what is right vs what was wrong.

How I live my faith

I have been ask to help teach the young men ages 12-13 at church. And I really enjoy it. There are about 10-12 boys in the group I teach and sometimes it gets pretty rowdy. But I know how critical it is to be that age and how much you can learn during that time. So I enjoy it. I also act as the Scout Master for them and I get to hiking/camping with them a lot. It is great.
