Hi I'm Evan

I'm a Mormon. And I'm a Missionary. And it is the best description I have ever made.

About Me

I am the second-oldest of six children, so there's always something going on at my house. Probably as a result of this, i developed interests that could probably be traced back to my large family. Firstly, I love to read. Reading gives one much more understanding and there are many, many books; far more than I could ever read, so there is always something new to encounter. I also enjoy sports; running, and ultimate frisbee especially. My family is awesome, and is a huge part of my life. I am currently serving as a missionary, speaking Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, as my parents were members. I remember attending church every week together, and I always felt something different when we went. I continued going to church all throughout my teenage years, and I felt that I ought to know for myself that the Church was true. My parents were strong members, but as with many things, they encouraged me to know for myself, to be a little bit more aware of how sometimes, we have to do something alone. But, for me there wasn't one day that I could point to and say "I know that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ". It was a slow, gentle accumulation of knowledge for me. Until, I realized that I could say with certainty "I know the Church is true". It was many small feelings of the Spirit that really brought me to know what I wanted and needed to know.

How I live my faith

Because i know what my Heavenly Father expects of me, I try to make those my expectations. A big part of that is serving a mission. I know that He wants me to serve and I want to serve as well. However, a lot of how I try to live my faith is not in the big things like serving a mission, but in the small things that only I can see or feel. Things like thinking kindly toward another, being charitable and just trying to be pleasant to everyone I meet. These things are really what I try do, because when I apply these, I can become better, more closely following the example of the Savior Jesus Christ.
