Hi I'm Rick

I was born and raised in Arizona. I run a janitorial company that specializes in the cleaning on movie theaters. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy to do fun things including basketball, cycling, camping, exercising, hanging out with my family, and other outdoor activites. I am happily married and my wife and I have only had one child so far that was stillborn. We are going to be foster parents very soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and my family was pretty faithful with living according to the principles of it. I chose to be baptized when I was eight years old and always wanted to serve as a full time missionary. A calling that is available to worthy, willing young men once they turn 19 years of age. I did have the privilege of doing this and I was called to serve two years in Sao Paulo Brazil. I met my wife shortly after returning home from my mission and after a short courtship we decided to be married and sealed in the Snowflake, AZ Temple. We have always wanted to have children and just waited for the day that we could be blessed with a child. After a miscarriage almost 2 years of being married we started to feel sad. Then after much prayer and fasting my wife got pregnant the next year. We found out it was a boy and we were so excited. We spent many nights talking names and preparing our home, his room, his clothes and everything for his arrival. After what seemed like an eternal pregnancy the day of delivery finally came and after much struggle through labor the hospital decided to do an emergency c-section, but when our baby boy came out he had a near perfect appearance yet he had no pulse and no breath. We were heartbroken and very astonished that after such a long wait we would not get to take home our child, but was called back to our Heavenly Father. This difficult trial has confirmed our faith in what we believe that families are Eternal and that our families can continue together after this life if certain things are done in this life to receive such a great blessing. We continue to follow the gospel because part of that commitment is continuing in faithful service to Christ's church and our fellowmen.

How I live my faith

One of the things that I do most is work with the youth. I have received a calling to serve with the young men ages 12-17 in the church and scouting program to learn how to live to be worthy of Heavenly Father's blessings. I enjoy working with them in all their activities. These activities include things like classroom settings, but most of the time is learning in real life things like camping and weekly activities that vary. Another thing I do to serve in the church is fun activities like basketball. I help both members and non-members get an opportunity to get some exercise by playing basketball at the church a few times a week.
