Hi I'm Cindy

I am a wife, mother and college graduate and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and stay-at-home mom to three wonderful kids. I enjoy cooking and baking and seeing my food enjoyed by those I love. I like trying new recipes and ingredients. I also love a clean house (hard to come by, especially with my inclination to make a mess in the kitchen). I stay active in my childrens' schools by volunteering my time in their classrooms. I also work occasionally as a substitute teacher. I am doing a preschool with my youngest and we are loving the one-on-one learning and time we are spending together. I love to read, but once I start, struggle to put the book down and get back to life! My family is on a new adventure in a new community and we are learning and growing together as we make new friends and find our way in a new place.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon religion. My father converted in his early 20s and my mother came from a Mormon home where church was not the highest priority. But, my parents were determined and faithful in teaching their children Christ-like principles. I am a Mormon because I believe my religion to be true. I have experienced heartaches, trials and struggles in my life that were made bearable by my faith in Jesus Christ and His plan for my family. I know that the difficulties I experience in this life have purpose, that the trials bring blessings and that enduring them well will only deepen my relationship with my Savior. I believe the doctrine of eternal families to be true and love that my family is bound together forever. I have a testimony of the power of Christ-like service in lifting and loving those around me. I have seen miracles and witnessed lives changed as I have served and been served by those around me. I also have a testimony of the truthfulness of a living prophet who seeks and receives direction from a loving Heavenly Father and works to provide me with knowledge that will guide me in this day. I know that God has given me His word not only through a living Prophet, but also through words of scripture that teach and train me in the ways of righteousness. I am so grateful for my beliefs and for the strength my testimony is to me and my family. What a blessed life I have lived because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I will start by saying that I am not perfect. I make mistakes and I may not always live my faith the best way possible. But, I try to be a good person, a good friend and a good neighbor. I truly care about the lives of those around me and try to help and lift and do my part to show love and compassion. So much of Jesus' mission was about service and love. And, it is so easy to do those things - to love and serve comes naturally. I have had many responsibilities in my church, from working with cub scouts to serving the women of the church. In each, I have tried to do my best and give what I can to serve with eagerness and love. These responsibilities are opportunities to serve and love, but also help me to grow and develop a stronger testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My favorite responsibility was when I served as the president of the women's organization. I learned to love every one of the women in my church, to know them by name, to spend time in each of their homes and to share in their hardships and joys. I watched women help each other, give of themselves for the benefit of another, and I was so touched at the kindness and generosity of the women in my church. This truly strengthened my testimony that as women, we can do God's work and together, we can lift those who are struggling and make a difference in each other's lives.
