Hi I'm Stephanie

I love my family. I have four kids, and four grandchildren. I run a home for developmentally disabled adults. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a really great husband to whom I've been married for 30 years. We have four children and live in the Pacific Northwest. We also have two handsome son-in-laws, and two cute granddaughters. Very soon we will have two cute grandsons. We are lucky enough to have my parents and my husbands parents living close by. It means a lot to me to be able to raise my kids in such a beautiful place with the example of wonderful grandparents. We enjoy spending time as a family doing simple things like listening to music, hiking, watching a good movie or playing games. We enjoy life and keep ourselves busy by supporting our kids in all the good things that they do. Whether we are watching a cross country meet, working in the garden, or going to church; we do it together. Now that most of my kids have grown, I've become an administrator of a group home for developmentally disabled adults. I get to go to work each day and feel the unconditional love that each of these people has for me. I love advocating for them and helping them have a great quality of life. They have so much to offer and I've been richly blessed through knowing them.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't imagine raising a family without the guidance and peace that comes from living my faith. I look around me and can see how the world can be so confusing. My religion has been a rock that has anchored me and given me guidance in a world that has shifting values. There are many good people in the world that may not have the same religious beliefs as I do, but that want to find truth. I think that we should be able to respect one another's beliefs and share what we believe and why. I am so thankful for a loving Father in Heaven who knows and cares about me and my family. He loves each one of us unconditionally and wants us to have His best blessings. No matter what our challenges in life, He will help us. If we turn to Him in prayer, He will never leave us alone. Even when we make mistakes, which we all do; we can repent. We can fix the things that are broken in our lives and become a better person. Our elder brother, Jesus Christ, willingly took upon himself all of our sins and heartache. We can become better than we are now because of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I was able to read the Book of Mormon for the first time when I was a teenager. This is a book of scripture that testifies and witnesses of Jesus Christ. As I read it and prayed, I felt a calm and very reassuring feeling that the things I was reading were true. I love reading it and feel like it helps me to know Jesus Christ better. My faith has blessed me and my family in so many ways.

How I live my faith

The best way I can live my faith is to serve others. I try to remember that we are His hands on Earth. There are little opportunities every day where we can follow Jesus Christs' example to love one another. I try to be kind and supportive of my family everyday and look for opportunities to do service at work and in my community. My family is so important to me. Everyday, we try to start and end the day with prayer. We also read the scriptures together. It's fun to find ways to apply what we read to our lives today. I also work at a group home for developmentally disabled adults, Everyday, I have many opportunities to help those who are most vulnerable. These wonderful, trusting people have become my friends. I admire their ability to love and find that by serving them, I become a more patient and better person. I find that I am happiest when I am helping others. There are so many people who need a friend. We never need to wait for an assignment to serve others. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is our perfect example.
