Hi I'm Alberta

I'm a student and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm a student majoring in psychology and integrative physiology at one of the biggest party schools in the nation. I love nature, being outdoors, meeting new people, making crafts, playing volleyball, playing games and laughing. I love being happy and sharing that with those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As I grew up, I found myself going through the motions of going to church but not truly understanding what the gospel meant. I knew that it was good and kept me from danger. By the end of high school, I began to think that church was limiting and that all things were fine in moderation. I never stepped over the line, but those thoughts came into my mind frequently. I received a rejection letter from BYU and my only other option was CU Boulder. I found myself saying maybe this was what's best because I would finally be able to live a life I wanted. Soon after I graduated high school, my parents sent me to Provo to attend classes at BYU. Each week, I grew closer to the Lord and understood more about the gospel. In September, I returned to CU for Fall Semester, but at that point understood more about the gospel. During my Freshman Year, I met a man who helped me truly understand the beauty of the gospel and the promises it holds. Challenges soon followed and I was blessed to know that if I prayed, Heavenly Father would comfort me. So one night, I knelt down in prayer and I knew without a doubt that this is the true church and the gospel is real. My heart was filled with love. I knew that this was the life I wanted. Challenges still come, but I am blessed each day with tender mercies that solidify my faith in God. I am a member of this church because I love God and I want to continue to love him each day.

How I live my faith

Currently, I'm the Compassionate Service Leader. That means that I look out for the needs of the women in my local congregation, whether it be spiritual, social or physical. I try to make sure each woman knows of the love that Heavenly Father has for her. I also try my hardest to serve those around me, even people I don't know. I try to better exemplify the love that Jesus Christ has for each person here on Earth each day in my personal interactions.
