Hi I'm Bob Sommer

I will be married to the same beautful women for fifty years on November 29th, 2011. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My parents divorced when I was fourteen. My father has always been my hero and a great example. I have always wanted to travel to different places. I joined the US Navy at the age of seventeen, with my fathers blessing and my promise to continue my education. My wife and I have served in many positions in our church. What impressed me about our church in the fact that families can be together for eternity, not just for earth time. Family is very important to my wife and I. I retired from the US Navy in 1979, and also retired from a large areospace Co. in 2000. My wife retired from US Government in 2001. Since we are emty nesters, we have served on two missions and have traveld the US gathering family history information. I'm a husband, father of three, grandfather to eight, a patriot, and I am happy that I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have gained , by prayer and personal revelation a testimony that the principles of the LDS church are true. With that said , in the LDS Temples families can be sealed together for eternity. No other religion that I know of has that ability and authority.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are Family History Consultants, which help members learn how to search for thier ancestors. We taech classes for those that want to learn more about family history. My wife and I have served missions together, we served as site managers for the Bishop's Storehouse, which is for helping needy familes to get food and others items for the family. We served in the Church and Family History Center in Salt Lake City. We truly enjoy the ablity to serve others.
