Hi I'm Vern Dyke

I'm an Information Technology Manager. I love to travel and scuba dive. I'm a husband and father. I live in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm deeply patriotic and love America. When I was little I lived and France and Belgium and had great experiences there. I also spent two years proselyting in Quebec and Ontario when I was 19 and 20. These experiences taught me to love other countries and their unique circumstances. But to also respect and admire my own country. I still love to travel and see new places and meet new people. My dream vacations are to do a photo safari in Africa, visit Israel, and see the great Mayan temples in Central America. I have 5 children, though only 2 are still living at home. My wife and I like to Scuba Dive, Snorkel, go on zip-line adventures and take photos.

Why I am a Mormon

Several of my ancestors had to make very difficult decisions to join the church and in most cases emigrate to America. Some were dis-owned, most lost all their fortunes, and all cherished their membership in the Church of Jesus Christ. I have found my own testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and strive to live by His teachings in order to find true happiness for my family and me.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life making their efforts worthwhile and I know that their sacrifices were intended to pass the blessings of the Gospel on to their children and grand-children. I also want to show my gratitude for Jesus Christ taking upon himself our sins and allowing us to learn and grow, make mistakes and still be able to return one day to our Father in Heaven. I currently teach New Testament classes in my ward every Sunday to the adult class. I love learning and teaching the scriptures.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Vern Dyke
I love teaching the Holy Bible in Sunday School lessons for the adult members of our congregation. The Bible teaches and testifies of Jesus Christ who is the savior of the whole world. We all need to find out the meaning of life and our part in our creator's plan. The Bible teaches us many things we need to know to learn about Him and His plan for us. I also love teaching about Paul and the many sacrifices he made in tormenting the saints of God, then repenting - changing his life, to testifying of Jesus and the need to be baptized of water and of the Spirit of God.
