Hi I'm Kendra

I love to sing opera. I sew. I snowmobile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music is my passion. I love to sing, especially about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I sing in choirs and as a soloist. I wish I could sing jazz, but have only mastered a classical style thus far. I hope to continue my education in vocal performance. My husband and I were married in 2008. We enjoy discovering new things to do together. We look forward to having a bigger family one day, but right now it's just us and our Maine Coon cat Sambo. I love the great outdoors, marveling at the beautiful creations God has given us, especially the stars. One of my favorite ways to enjoy God's creations is snowmobiling. I also enjoy sewing, creating art, and reading good books. My favorite book is "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupery. I love all things vintage, and my family says I should have been born in the 1920s.

Why I am a Mormon

As I said, I love the great outdoors. All of God's creations testify of Him. I guess I always knew that there was a higher being watching over me. When I was 15, I began to seek out the truth. I searched in many places, asking those I respected about their belief in God. I had many Mormon peers, and they were great examples to me. The gospel of Jesus Christ enveloped me. I followed the admonition of Mormon to pray to know if the things written in "The Book of Mormon" were true. As I prayed, Heavenly Father comforted me, and sent people into my life to help me realize the testimony I had within; that this is Christ's church. He loved me and would care for me in my greatest time of need. At the age of 16, I agreed to be baptized, but only on the condition that I could have time to prove to myself that I was committed. I set a date for a month out and began to keep my own personal commitments. This time was very important to me because it was when I truly began to establish a solid relationship with my Heavenly Father and my savior, Jesus Christ. Then, on February 3, 2004, I entered the waters of baptism and haven't looked back since.

How I live my faith

Our church uses music in many ways to help invite the Holy Ghost to be with us in our meetings. I've given my time and talents to help bring music into our meetings either by singing, organizing choirs, directing choirs, directing congregational hymns, or playing piano for our children's organization. I have also given service to other members through extending friendship and offering my time to others. I love opportunities when I can share my testimony. My favorite way to share my testimony is through song.
