Hi I'm Katie

I'm a small-town girl. I'm a wife and mom of two boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in North Idaho in a small town of 600 people. I grew up in a big family and was lucky to have parents and siblings who really loved to be together. I was one of the top students in my high school graduating class and sustained a 4.0 GPA throughout my college career. I've been married for almost 7 years to a fun-loving law student and am a mom to two crazy, yet adorable boys. My life consists of constant diaper-changing, wrestling on the floor, reading lots of Dr. Suess books, cartoon marathons and thousands of tears, hugs and kisses. My life may not seem too thrilling or monumental, but in my family's eyes, I have the most important job of all...raising my family!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to grow up Mormon. Some may think since I grew up Mormon I'm less of a convert to it's teachings and it's gospel. On the contrary, I'm every bit of a convert to this church as anyone else. I have a personal testimony of Jesus Christ, of His love for me, and His atoning sacrifice. I've had my whole life to ponder it's truth and know of its reality. When I was 13 years old my older brother and I were in a terrible car accident. Those who witnessed it were positive that we were killed. I remember when we were hit and flying through the air, thinking to myself, "This is it. I'm going to die," but knowing that everything would be okay, because I knew that God loved me. That's why I am a Mormon. That's why I believe and know that this church is true, because it's all about Jesus Christ, His love for us and returning to Him.

How I live my faith

I am an active and participating member of this church. I've worked with the children, youth and women in this church. I spend time visiting with women who need help, comfort or friendship. I have many good friends who support or help me when I need it. I even have been in charge of putting together activities and events for the women in the church. My family prays and reads scriptures together. My husband and I spend a lot of our time teaching our children about Jesus and even singing songs about Him. We LOVE this gospel. It makes us happy and gives us true joy...and isn't that what we all want in life?
