Hi I'm Rhonda Cantrell

I'm a Mormon. I am from Kentucky and a housewife who loves life and God. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a homemaker and used to drive truck with my husband until I had to quit because I got ill. I was also a Nurse in hospitals and nursing homes. I loved taking care of people. I am a Parent of 2 wonderful daughters and sometimes it is hard because I don't have a good relationship with my girls like I would like to have due to divorce. I am married to a wonderful man and we have been married 25 years. I enjoy the computer and the internet, learning to play the piano, reading, and movies. I am a very happy person and willing to help anyone who might need it if I can. I have just started reading the Bible all the way through and I read it to my husband every night because he is on the road and it helps us get closer to God. I learned that without God in your life you have nothing. And I have been through a lot of things and I knew that God would help me through them. I love to talk to people and love to share my love for God and other things that people want to share with me. I am grateful to the people who brought me to the church and I love all my church family.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because I was searching for so long of where I belonged. I am a convert as my parents believed in God but did not force us to go to church. They taught us to find whatever religion we wanted. I became a Baptist. When I married my husband, he was a Mormon but he was inactive. So I was searching still and then in 2007 some people came by the house and we became good friends. They told me about Mormons and we just kept talking for a long time. I dragged my feet for a few years. And then in 2010, I got very ill and I asked my friends for a blessing. They came to the house and gave me a blessing and it was the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me. My body and soul was filled with the Holy Spirit. So they came to the hospital to be with my husband when I had a procedure. I talked to my husband and told him I was more interested in learning more about the Mormons. So I called my friends and told them I am interested in having the missionaries visit. So they came to the house and visited several times, I went to the church to see more and just loved how they treated me with such love and respect. Then in February 13, 2011 , I got baptized and have been so blessed. I am proud to be a Mormon and I feel so complete and I know that God loves me and that the Mormon church is the true church and I say this as my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN

How I live my faith

I try to help in our community as much as possible. In another community, we had severe fires so I am donating some money to help the fire victims. One of our members passed away a few months ago, so I went to her funeral and 4 women wanted to go to the gravesite so I offered to take them and I felt good doing it. Also I am willing to help our branch if they need me and I can do it. I try to bring food and other things to our branch if we have socials or other things going on. I been with our branch here in Kentucky for 3 years but willing to share my testimony and willing to help them if they need me. I believe in God and I am living my life better and healthier and just living the promises I made when I got baptized. Thank you God for being in my life. Also my husband and I got sealed on April 25th and do now feel complete. I love God and learning more of His word in the Bible and The Book of Mormon.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Rhonda Cantrell
Because they go by what they read, see on T.V. for years. So when they hear about being a Mormon, they don't think we are Christians. We are. It is the myth that we are cults or have a bunch of wives. When I was going to get baptized in February in 2011, I told all my brothers and sisters and they were happy for me. I called my last sister and she just starting to yell and cuss at me. It scared me.She is Catholic and after we talked calmly she understood that I chose my religion because this is where I need to be and where God lead me. I am so proud that . They think we are a cult because they have not researched or looked into the teachings of The Book of Mormon. I advise you all to pick up the Book of Mormon and read it from cover to cover and you will be amazed at how it will change your life. GOD BLESS. Show more Show less
