Hi I'm Kristin

I'm a wife, mom, triathlete, law student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife to a budding attorney, mom to two energetic kids, and a full time law student. I also try to squeeze in time everyday for a good run or bike ride. And when I had more time (before school started), I'd often be at my sewing machine, letting my creative juices flow.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church and have been an active member all my life. In high school, a close friend was investigating the church. He'd go to church with me and have the discussions at my parent's house. I told him all he needed to do was read the Book of Mormon and pray, and then he'd know if the church was true or not. I didn't expect him to turn the question on me and ask if I'd done that. Wow. I hadn't. Sure I had read the Book of Mormon, but I hadn't prayed about it. I knew I needed to, but was so scared. What if I finally did, and I didn't get an answer? What if my answer was that this wasn't real? That night I read Moroni 10 again, then I knelt down and stayed on my knees for a long time before I even started to pray. How did I never do this before?? Was my Heavenly Father even there and listening to me? I started my prayer. I told my Heavenly Father that I wanted to know if the Book of Mormon was really translated by Joseph Smith from ancient scriptures written by past prophets. I closed my prayer, and immediately I felt my body surrounded by a feeling of love and warmth. And in my mind were the words "you have always known". Since that day that my prayer was answered, my testimony hasn't faltered. I prayed, and my prayer was answered. I knew, just like I always had, that the founding pinciples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints were truth. That Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. That I have a Heavenly Father, and he loves me.

How I live my faith

At church every Sunday, I get to spend two hours watching the toddlers while their parents go to classes. So the little ones from 18 months to 3 years old come to me and we do puzzles, play with play dough, eat snacks and play with bubbles. But most importantly, we also get to have a lesson, where the children will hear every time we get together that they are Children of God, and that he loves them. Getting to work with these sweet little ones is such a blessing and a reminder to me that my I also am a child of God, and that He has a plan for me.
