Hi I'm Kimberly Bracken

I'm a small town Nebraska girl, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a pretty normal person & won't pretend otherwise. I grew up in a small town in Nebraska, where in highschool I participated in band, vocal, one act, and speech. I enjoy music, dancing, reading, spending time with my family & friends, and I like to learn new things. I'm working towards a degree in Veterinary Sciences- animals are a passion of mine. Dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, fish, snakes, I've had them all at one point or another. I especially love big dogs- my future husband & family will have to love German Shepherds & Labradors as much as I do! :) Since I was 8 years old I've wanted to serve a mission, to teach others about the gospel of Jesus Christ that has brought me so many blessings in my life. As of November 2013 I left my family, friends, and plans in order to serve in the Orlando Florida Mission for 18 months, and it's been the greatest experience of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both LDS, and I've attended church almost every week since I was born. Like most kids, I believed what my parents believed. I didn't have any doubts about the church until I was around twelve. I really started to examine my religion, and what I believed. I had some doubts, so I prayed and fasted to know if this was the true church. I didn't recieve a big, hallelujah moment. Over time I recieved small, simple answers to my questions. Some answers came through my church leaders, but most of my answers I recieved by revelation when I read the Bible and Book of Mormon. I now know that this church is true. When I read the scriptures, I can feel the Holy Ghost. Through prayer and fasting, I received the answers I needed. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and Joseph Smith is a true prophet. I know that no fourteen year old boy could have made up the truths in that book. I know that God answers prayers. When I talk to him, I know that He hears me. I know that God loves each and every one of us. I've felt it. I know that Thomas S Monson is a prophet of God, appointed by Him to teach and to lead us in these latter days. I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, our Savior. Everything good in my life has come from God; and this church, this gospel, brings me closer to Him. I can't even begin to describe the peace & fulfillment that I've received as a result of following the standard & truths found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in every aspect of my life- showing respect for others, myself, and God in everything I do, say, watch, wear, eat, or listen to. I do my best to live in such a way that I would not be ashamed to know that everyone in the world was watching... even my mother. :)
