Hi I'm Nate

I was born and grew up in the Dinosaur capital of the world. I am a soldier and social worker, a part time artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My list of jobs says a lot about me, I have worked in Pest Control, Mosquito Abatement, Custom Sewing and Clothing Alterations, Scenic Carpentry, Soldier, Linguist, Pilot, Social Worker, Theater/Drama teacher, Assistant Window Covering Installer, Carpet layer Assistant, and was a Fashion Design major in college. I have a lot of interests and that has lead me to where I am in my career so far. Now I am a Social Worker and a Soldier, but I do not plan to stop there. I am married for 12 years and we have 4 kids. I have been a Cubmaster for a local Cub Scout unit and I Love to grow a vegetable garden and I love to build stuff.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and I guess you can say that I have always been an active and faith full member of the church. I am a Mormon because I know that the doctrine and teachings are true. I can see that blessings that I have in my life from having lived the principles, and I can see the sorrow of many that have not had the blessing of being raised in such a family centered environment and have made less wise decisions. The teachings are the teachings of Jesus Christ and he is the only Savior that we will ever know. We need to have a personal relationship with him and our Heavenly Father. The Holy Ghost has touched my heart and stirred my soul to know and understand the teachings of the Prophets and Apostles, both ancient and modern are the word of God. I do not need to be perfect. I need to do what I know is true. Even though I will make mistakes I have the opportunity to live with my Heavenly Father again someday because I have a Savior. He will forgive me if I will repent of my sins and shortcomings, and I can live with him and all my family again someday.

How I live my faith

I have been a sunday school teacher for the youth, ages 12-18 for over a year. Now I am serving as the second counselor in the sunday school presidency. I try to be a good steward in my callings but I have to admit I will probably never live up to the examples that I had growing up. I believe that everything that I do is part of my religion. My being a Husband and Parent. My being a Son and Brother and grandson and Cousin. My education and my opportunities to teach. Being a soldier and being a Social worker. I love to organize events for the church members but I am usually best at coming up with the ideas and I need others to help me with the execution. Thank goodness I have a wonderful wife. I love to participate in Ward Movie nights, I love Trunk or Treat at Halloween, I love Christmas Parties, and the scout fundraisers. I love the opportunities to serve and help where I can. Sunday meetings are are good time to meet and coordinate the other activities that are going on. The Savior said to us that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. We need to remember that we are here to learn and grow, but the Sabbath is still the day of the Lord and we need to do our best to not use it for our own purposes. I will never be perfect in this life but that does not stop me from trying to be a good, kind, and charitable person.
