Hi I'm Gena

I am a full time wife and mother of 5 amazing children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time wife and mother. I have been blessed to grow up in this great country with a semi-rural lifestyle and love that I can provide that opportunity for my kids. I will forever be greatful for our founding fathers who sacrificed so much for these United States and for all those who still sacrifice in our behalf to protect our freedoms. I enjoy the outdoors, sports of all kinds, crafts and good music. Our family raises livestock, horses and herding dogs. I found and married my best friend my freshman year of college and we have 5 amazing children. I feel like I am living a life I used to dream about as a child. I graduated with honors from a university with a B.S. in Agribuisness. I love to learn about new technology/computers and I am so thankful for online shopping. Researching family history is so rewarding and much easier with this new techonology. I enjoy learning how to be more self sufficient and being able to help sustain my family in good and bad times. I enjoy serving in my church and watching my children learn and grow their testimonies of our Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into this church. My family has been members since the gospel was restored in the 1800's. I was baptized at the age of 8 and I was blessed with a testimony at a very young age. As I have grown, I have seen the goodness and happiness that living the commandments and teachings of our Heavenly Father and Savior brings. I have seen the heartache that comes without the knowledge of the plan of salvation and not living the commandments. I am a mormon because I know that life has a purpose, meaning and direction for us inidividually. I know that we are here on this Earth to be tried and tested, but with the atoning sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ we can make it back to the presence of our Heavenly Father. We will all fall and make mistakes and that in itself is not wrong; it's wrong if we don't fix it, repent and partake of the atonement. I am a Mormon because I want to be with my family forever! I know that when we are sealed in the temple that we are sealed to our chidlren, parents, grandparents and can be together forever in the eternities if we do our part to follow the commandments. I don't know how I would raise a family today without the help and guidelines from our prophet and leaders. It gives such peace to know there is a living prophet on the Earth today that can give us the instruction we need to strengthen our families and homes and point them to God. We have had many scarey situations with our chidren being hurt/sick. I know that because my husband holds the priesthood of God that he can give them a blessing and all will be well and according to God's will. Being a Mormon is my whole life and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by starting and ending the day in prayer. I know that when we pray it helps to keep an eternal perspective and to be more sensitive to promptings of the spirit. When something hard comes up through the day I know I can pray for strength and guidance. I also strive to study the gospel through scriptures and the words of our modern day prophets. Jesus Christ taught to be of service and I strive to serve those friends, family, neighbors and community in various capacities. Our church is strictly functioning on the service of it's members. I know the importance of accepting responsibilities and callings within the church and doing them to the best of my ability. I strive to always be willing and give 100% in my efforts, "for when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are in the service of your God." I try to help make sure our family has family scriptures and prayer daily along with weekly family home evening and observing the Sabbath Day with appropriate activities. I am far from perfect in every aspect of life, but I know the Lord loves me and has a plan for me. I know that I can repent and be forgiven as I forgive others and strive to be better. We try to have a home where anybody can come to feel welcome and peace. I try to follow the cousel that has been given to have a picture of a LDS temple and of the Savior in every room. I don't want anyone that comes in our home to question where our devotion lies.
