Hi I'm Alicia

I'm a mother that loves hiking and crafting. The greatest gift I give my children is my faith. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small Dairy farm in Utah. I love animals (especially cats). I love to learn new things, and especially like to make things with my hands. I've tried lots of different hobbies; crochet, quilt piecing, calligraphy, paper crafting, embroidery, and more... and I enjoy them all. I love the outdoors; camping, hiking, swimming, cross-country skiing, sledding, river rafting. The mountains and forests are my favorite places to go. I went to college at Brigham Young University where I graduated in Family and Consumer Science Education. I have three young kids. I love being a mother. In college people would ask me what I wanted to be - always my answer was a Mother. I always knew that I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom just like my Mother was.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors were early Mormon Pioneers, and my parent's have always been dedicated members of the church. Because of my background I had a strong foundation to build my own testimony upon. But I am not a mormon just because they were. I am a mormon because I have gained a testimony of my own. My testimony continues to grow with me, it gets stronger as I study the scriptures, listen to and follow the Prophet's council and pray. I have found so much happiness in the gospel. The joy I feel comes from knowing that I am doing what the Lord would have me do. From keeping the commandments. My joy doubled when I I was married in the temple. At the time I didn't think I could be any happier, but when we had our first child I found out quickly that I could. In my Sunday School classes I learned about Heavenly Father's plan for us (his children). His plan has many titles, but my favorite is the Plan of Happiness. It's my favorite because that is what I have found in His church - Happiness.

How I live my faith

First I study my faith. How can you live something unless you know it? Then I try in all I do, to live in harmony with the teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and our current Prophet and Apostles today. When I make mistakes, as we all do, I turn to my Savior in repentance. I try to give service and to be an example of a believer. I try to share my faith--the source of my happiness, with others.
