Hi I'm Ciera

I'm a Freshman at Arizona State, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying psychology at ASU. I love my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into an LDS family, that does not mean that I never had a choice to be a Mormon. Being in high school, there are alot of pressures that I have to face each and everyday. Many teenagers know that it is tough to keep Christ-like standards with all the pressures highschoolers put on us. Every day as new trials and challenges come my way I have to CHOOSE whether or not to live by the standards I am taught. Like I said before, I am far from perfect. Sometimes I make wrong choices. But I am a Mormon because if I wasn't, I do not know if I could stand against the never ending list of hardships and trials that come with being a teenager. I have learned through experience that I am blessed when I am doing what I know is right . Even if doing something wrong, that seems fun at the moment, makes me happy in the short run; I know that the consequences will never be good in the long run. This is why I choose to see the bigger picture in an "eternal perspective." Making the seemingly difficult choice- at the time- to live righteously DOES pay off in the long run. The blessings and happiness from living the gospel are immense. So in simpler words, I continue to choose to be a Mormon because of the happiness it brings into my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. I am not perfect. I do not always live the standards I should. Sometimes I wish I was a better example of what the Mormon church truly stands for. But that is why I love this gospel. I love it because no person will ever be "not good enough" to be a Mormon. So I go through my day, and I try and live the Mormon faith by choosing what is right, and I try and be an example to my peers. And when I slip up, I will turn to Christ, turn to Heavenly Father, turn to the kindly members of my church and I know that they will lift me back up again. I live my faith, by simply trying my hardest to be the best I can be.
