Hi I'm Steve

I am a Network Administrator, Cub Scout leader, volunteer at a local baseball club. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad. My main hobby has been the same since I was young, I like knowing how things work, I like making things do what I want them to do, I like working with computers. I also like working on cars. I enjoy working with the scout age boys where I can share my knowledge and experiences with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church officially in 1992 although I had others around me show me what the Church is about by their example. A really good friend showed me most of all when I was in college. He was my lab partner and one day we were going somewhere when he noticed a woman with her kids in along the side of the road asking for money for food. We went shopping and bought her groceries for her. It was that act of kindness and compassion made me wonder why he did this. I learned about how the Mormons feel about family and wanted to learn more. As I look back on my life and people I've known I realize that there were many people who planted little seeds in me that I didn't understand then but now understand and hope that I can reflect what they meant to me, and have my kids show others the same.

How I live my faith

I volunteer for a local baseball club. I believe that by kids participating as a team they learn values, they learn to let others help them while they help others. I am involved in scouting. I am the Webelos leader, I enjoy teaching the youth about how things work and see them succeed in whatever it is we are working on. I've been involved in church leadership positions where I have been able to see peoples’ lives change, I've seen people at their lowest change by doing what they are supposed to be doing and relying on family, extended families and the church. I know that as long as I do what I'm supposed to do, no matter what happens I will always have a place to go, a helping hand and be around people who really care about me.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Substances like tobaco, tea, alcohol and all kinds of drugs alter the minds ability to think and reason responsibly. Society and companies want us the think that these things are needed or help us some how but usually in the end we find that they make these products only for profit. Show more Show less
