Hi I'm Joyce

Joy has been my life experience, true to my name, Joyce. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the beauty of the earth and the interesting and funny people who live on it! My great love is a good book. I have been a children's librarian and now volunteer at the Friends of the Library bookstore, and represent the Friends at the chamber of commerce meetings. I enjoyed teaching kindergarten to a group of Vietnamese children who had recently immigrated to America. I am grandmother of 11, monther of 3, wife of 45 years. Four years ago I served with my husband as a missionary in small villages near the Susquehanna and Delaware rivers in PA and NY. I am an American of Italian and German descent and I am a Mormon (a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints).

Why I am a Mormon

Many of my high school friends attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and they were a happy and lively group. I envied them and wanted to be part of their group, but they only dated each other. There was a boy that I wanted to date and wanted a chance with him. As time went by I noticed that members of the church were happy, loving people and I wanted to learn more. In college I found a man who would date me and he was LDS. I joined the church a year and a half later.

How I live my faith

I love teaching 5 year olds on Sundays. Their sweet spirits teach me even more than the scriptures about love and Jesus Christ. I invite neighbors and friends in the community to attend activities held in the church and monthly potlucks. I strive to be an example of the Savior by being kind and non-judgemental.
