Hi I'm Jessica.

I'm a university graduate. I love retro music, movies and style. I write, bake, watch sitcoms and love to swim. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm really into vintage things. I love studying the past - especially the 1940's, '50's and '60's. I love to sing, play the piano, and play the guitar. I also love to write. It helps me get my frustrations out and to think things through more clearly and thoroughly. I love to swim, take walks, and ride my bike, because these activities give me time to contemplate my life and the path I'm taking. I love to bake and I try to bake something new every week. I love geography, looking at maps and globes, and I hope to do a lot of traveling someday. I enjoy peaceful quiet moments, but I won't ever say no to a good dance party.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found true happiness in this church and this gospel. I think we all struggle sometimes, trying to find real happiness that doesn't fade away. I've searched for happiness in so many different places and in so many different ways...but I can honestly say that the only time I've been 100% happy and 100% content with myself is when I have been living the way that the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches. This gospel has helped me to see that even when life is hard, there's a way through it all. There is always hope! In the gospel, I find strength to make it through each day. I have learned, and now know for sure, that Jesus Christ is ALWAYS there for me to lean on during the rough patches of my life. He and my Father in Heaven love me. I am a child of God. Just as my parents here in this mortal life want me to be happy and succeed, so does my Heavenly Father. That knowledge has made all the difference. He will bless me, protect me, and meet my every need. He will help me to grow stronger, to have greater faith, and to become an influence for good in the lives of all those around me. I know that through Him, all things are possible, and through Christ, I can find happiness, peace, comfort, and strength. So why am I a Mormon? Because, simply put, this true gospel brings me true happiness.

How I live my faith

I believe that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints means that we need to act as Jesus Christ would act at all times and in all places. This is how we can be true disciples of Jesus Christ. So how do I live this each and every day? It's not always easy. I make it a point to pray to my Heavenly Father daily. I also read my scriptures each day - the Book of Mormon, and sometimes the Bible too - because I have found that when I read each day about Christ and His gospel, I am better able to keep in mind how to be like Him. Praying and reading my scriptures helps me to have the Holy Ghost with me, and that helps me to keep Christ in mind throughout my day. I try to talk to people who look like they could use a friend, because I know how lonely life can be, and I know that God doesn't want his children to be sad and lonely. So I try to be like Christ and reach out to those in need. I go to church every Sunday to learn more about the gospel, and I try to live what I learn there.
