Hi I'm Sheena

I am a mom of two girls, and have another baby on the way. I love my family and my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two girls and have a baby on the way. I stay home with the kids and love teaching and playing with them. My days consist of making and cleaning meals and messes! My girls love pretending to be Snow White and all of the other princesses, so I am usually pretending to be a wicked step-mother, a beast, or a prince. I am usually all 3. We love when "dad" comes home from work. Some of our favorite things to do are, going out with friends, walking to the park nearby, and finding new things to do as a family in the city.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I strive to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ. I beleive this church is His gospel on the earth. When I read the Book of Mormon, I know it is good and I know it comes from God. Going to church, taking the sacrament each week and reading the scriptures give me strength, happiness and guidance. When I am discouraged I can always turn to the scriptures or prayer and feel uplifted. I love this church, the Church of Jesus Christ! I love what I learn from being a member and trying every week to become a little better. I am grateful for the blessings the gospel brings into my life. I know Christ lives and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Him. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to live my faith in many different capacities within the church. When I was 19 and first married, I was asked to serve by teaching the young kids ages 3-12 on Sundays. I was intimidated at first but grew to love the children so much. After a few years, I taught with the young women ages 13-18. I was also a girls camp leader one summer, it was a blast! Most recently I have served and taught the women ages 18 to 118. It has been an incredible experience being with and learning from all of the women in my ward. They each have so much to give and I have learned so much. We planned a night each month to get together as women, these included service projects, and speakers and were on a variety of subjects. One night we focused on cheap and easy meals. Everyone who wanted to, brought food and a recipe to share and two of the women, one in her 20's and one in her 50's, presented their favorite meals. I feel like these activities and our Sunday worship together breaksdown age barriers and other differences and allows us to learn and grow from one another. I have loved every aspect of serving in the church, and each time I have served I have grown closer to those I serve and to our savior Jesus Christ.
