Hi I'm Kyle

I grew up in Idaho. I lived in Mexico. I am a Dentist. I love Barbershop music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a barbershop singer. I began singing barbershop with my dad when I was 11 years old. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I feel that because of music I have become a better person. I am a proud father of two boys and we have one more on the way. I love to ski, mountain bike, and garden. I love to play basketball and catch with my son. I like to go out on family excursions in the mountains. I love to hike and be outdoors. I love my family, and am grateful that I get to come home every day to people who love me and want to be with me. I grew up on a farm in Idaho, and spent summers moving irrigation pipe and waterring the fields. My dad taught me about hard work, and serving others. I lived in Mexico for two years, and was able to really experience the culture and love the people of that great land. I was taught that no matter how much material wealth you may have, you can be happy and share what you have with others. I have so many fond memories of my experiences there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the faith that the Mormon religion promotes. As I have read the Bible and learned more about the prophets of old, who they were, and what they stood for, I have realized that the Lord asked each of them to give their lives in his service. Because they gave their lives to God, their faith was strengthened and they eventually had the faith to be able to endure all things. I love the Mormon church because we do not have a paid clergy, but people who are freely giving of their time and talents to further the work of God on the earth, without expecting any monetary gain from their service. It is inspiring to me to have a responsibility at church to teach a class, help with the youth, or speak to the congregation. Becuase of the involvement I have at church my testimony of the gospel has grown, and I have come to know Jesus Christ in a way that I don't think I could have done in any other religion. I am a Mormon because I believe that the way Christ organized his church when he was on the earth, is the way a church should be organized today. We have a prophet on the earth today, with 12 apostles who receive revelation for the church. It is a living church because Christ is at its head, and he directs the church through the inspiration of His prophet and apostles. Mostly, I am a Mormon because I have studied its religion, the teachings found in the Book of Mormon, and the words of the living prophets. I have prayed about the truthfulness of these teachings, and I have received a spiritual witness verifying to me that it is indeed true. This witness is written on my heart, and I know that this is where God wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I have been asked to teach an early morning Bible class to high school age students. Class begins at 6:00 in the morning, and goes until 7:00. We are covering the Old Testament this year, so I am spending my free time after work studying the Bible and the lesson plans, and then waking up early the next morning to create an environment in a class room setting where the students can have their own personal spiritual experience, and learn more about the stories of the Old Testament. I want them to learn the principles found in the scriptures, and understand how God deals with his children. If they can learn to find the answers to their questions in the scriptures, then they will have a tool that will help them throughout their lives when they are faced with difficult circumstances. I also visit 3 families in our area on a monthly basis to share the gospel with them, and make sure their needs are taken care of.
