Hi I'm Hunter

I'm a runner. I love phyics. I love Rubik's puzzles. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Eagle Scout, and I'm leaving on a mission for the Church in San Fernando California, Spanish-Speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are Mormons, and that's how I was raised, but that's not why I'm a Mormon. The last few years, since about eighth grade, I've been thinking a lot more seriously about my life, especially my future. My eighth grade year, my family began to read the Book of Mormon together everyday. And that got me to think more seriously about the church. But it wasn't until my Freshman year, when I began to read the Book of Mormon on my own. Up until that point I had just followed the church because that's what my parents believed. But as I read the Book of Mormon and learned it's teachings, I prayed to know for myself if it was true. I received revelation that this is the true gospel. I know of a surety that my Redeemer lives. I know that he knows me individually and loves me. The Book of Mormon is true doctrine and the living Prophet does receive revelation from Heavenly Father. I know these things to be true. And that is why I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission to help teach other's about the church.

What is being a Mormon like?

A lot of people think that it's hard being Mormon, because of all the rules. I think the opposite is actually true. Because I've already made the decision not to drink, do drugs, or have sex before I'm married, it takes away a lot of the pressure that other kids are under. And having an eternal perspective rather than a worldly one has helped me realize the importance of school, which I know will help me later in life. But other than that, being Mormon isn't really different from anyone else. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He still loves us today as much as he did the Children of Israel during Moses's day. Because of this love, the Lord has sent us a prophet to help lead and guide us through the hardships in life. Just as the Children of Israel were struggling with idols and the bondage of the Egyptians, we have hardships and temptations that we aren't sure how to deal with. The eternal laws of God do not change, but we have a prophet on the earth today to help us understand the laws as they relate to today and the problems we face now. If we listen to the teachings of the prophets, ancient, recent, and today, we can better withstand the trials of life and return to live with God. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet on the earth today, and he has been given all the keys of the priesthood to help guide and lead the church. Through his teachings, we can truly become God's chosen people.
