Hi I'm Justin Jenks

I was raised on a farm in Washington State. I grew up working beside my parents and 7 siblings. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Father of 4 with another baby due soon. I have a wonderful wife that I've been married to for 17 years. Our family enjoys the outdoors together. We love to fish on the Columbia River for Salmon and Steelhead. We also enjoy crabbing and shrimping in the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands. I manage a family business of farming, storing and packing apples in Washington Sate. We live in a small community of 2100 people it's very peaceful living in a small community. I have been the Mayor of the city for the past 6 years. It has been an honor and priviledge to serve the members of the community in this way. I was raised on a farm and learned to work with my 3 brothers and 3 sisters. We loved to play sports and I excelled in wrestling eventually winning a state championship in my weight. I didn't like farm life much as a kid because the excessive amount of work it required. It wasn't until I moved away from farming that I learned how much I loved it, and how much I had learned from that lifestyle. 2 years while I was away, I was serving a mission in Bilbao, Spain. I learned to be fluent in Spanish which has been a blessing in my work everyday. I also met many people who I learned to serve and love.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Ghost witness to me of the truth. I have thought many times in my life about what is to come after this life and does it really matter what I do in this life? When I was 5 years old my oldest sister was suddenly diagnosed with Lukemia, she was 10. She died a month later. I remember being very sad but not fully understanding what had just happened and how much I would long to know her better. As I've grown up I have thought about being with and seeing her again. 12 years ago my father was killed suddenly in a car accident, again bringing me to my knees to verify what I already knew. Families can be together foerver. It is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ that we are able to know this is true. It is through this process of learn, ponder and pray that I have learned to find the truthfuness of all things.

How I live my faith

I serve as a Leader of the Young Men. It is rewarding to see how young men today succeed in fighting the powers of satan. They work together to build each other up and help one another along the way. I also erve as the Mayor of the city and try to be involved in as many community and school activities that time allows. I try to be a good friend and neighbor. We love to have people come to our home for dinner. We love to cook some of our catches and share with those around us. As we all know actions speak louder than words I hope I'm speaking loud and clear.
