Hi I'm Adam Moffitt

I'm realizing how little Spanish I learned in High School by preparing for my mission in San Pedro Sula Honduras and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I like long walks on the beach, so I am excited to be serving in the Honduras San Pedro Sula mission as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have looked forward to missionary service for most of my life, and am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve as a representative of my Savior Jesus Christ for two years. People have asked me why I would want to waste two years of my life in the middle of my college education when I could be pursuing education and career goals instead. I am confident, however, that there is no better way that I could possibly spend two years of my life than serving as a missionary. These two years will truly be the hardest, but the best two years of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true. I know that God loves and knows me by name, and that he loves all of his children. It is for that reason that I am traveling 2,500 miles to a place that I do not know speaking a language that I do not know. Although I do not yet know the people or the culture that I will be serving among, I know that God loves them and so I love them. They are my brothers and sisters. I know that life on this earth is a test and hope to have the courage, steadfastness, and obedience to pass with shining colors. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and divinely inspired and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. I know that God is my Father and that I am his son. I know that the same priesthood authority and church organization of the New Testament has been restored to the earth in these latter days. I know that If I live worthily, God will bless me a hundred-fold. I know that if you read the Book of Mormon with an open heart, and pray, sincerely desiring to know the truth, God will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost. How do I "know" all of these things? Because I have taken that challenge. I have read the Book of Mormon and can testify to its power. I have prayed about the Book of Mormon and I KNOW that it is true. It IS true, and this church IS true. I love the gospel and know there is a living prophet of God on the earth today that leads and guides this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of what I believe. I am not perfect, but I try to be friendly to all and be a conduit of Christ's love to those around me. As a bearer of the Aaronic priesthood, I try to live my life worthily every day. I am the Priest Quorum first councilor, and try to be a leader for my quorum of fellow young men.
