Hi I'm Conner Leavitt

I love music. I sing and play piano. I enjoy sharing music with my friends and the community and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music is a huge part of my life. I was in choir for 4 years at my highschool. During highschool I was in a jazz choir and I really enjoy that style of music. I just graduated form highschool in june 2011. I also graduated with my AA degree in 2011. When I go back to college I want to be an architect, but i want to continue to have music in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a part of this church because of the conversion of my grandparents. My mother's parents overcame many things to become members of this church. My family has been a huge example of the happiness the gospel can bring to your life. I am a memeber of this church because I know that if I live its teachings I will be with my family for all eternity. I know that it will be bring me eternal life with my father in heaven and his son Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for Joseph Smith and the desire he had to follow the Lord. I am thankful that he sincerely prayed to our Heavenly Father, and that because of that everyone can be a member of this church. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can repent of all our sins and we will be forgiven. No matter what sins we have committed we can repent, we can change our ways, and we can be forgiven.

How I live my faith

When I was 17 I was called to be the choir director for my ward. This experience blessed me because I was able to teach and share my talents with my ward. I was happy to be able to practice with others in my ward to bring the spirit to those that are in our sacrament meetings. Recently I have been called to be the ward organist. This calling has made me nervous because I dont have any prior experience playing the organ. However, I am excited to learn and to stretch my abilities. I am an Eagle Scout and that has allowed me to serve my community. For my Eagle leadership project I led in the construction of bird habitats for the American Kestrel. The habitats were then put in orchards in the areas around my community. The kestrels will help to keep the smaller birds that eat fruit out of the orchards and the orchardists are providing a home for these birds that are struggling to survive in my area.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Conner Leavitt
No. Just like with everything in the Church, as a Mormon we are not forced or required to go on a mission. Serving a mission is however a responsibility that we believe we have. Currently I am serving a mission. I wanted to serve a mission and the Church called me to serve. I know serving a mission is what Jesus Christ wants me to do and that is why I am serving. I am excited to share what I have found with others and that is why missionary work is so great! Show more Show less
