Hi I'm Mark

I married my high school sweetheart, I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, I'm a CPA, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love running, especially training to run long distances. I'm 26, I've been married for over five years, my lovely wife and I have a two year old daughter, and I recently started my career in public accounting. As a family we love going to the park and spending time playing together. We love the Rocky Mountains and escape up to them every Saturday that we get a chance.

Why I am a Mormon

Although being raised in an LDS home, my conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ came through my own personal reading of the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants during my teenage years. While in high school, I accepted the challenge of my dad and mom to read the Book of Mormon and ask God about its truthfulness as a book of divine scripture. I did so, reading the book before bed each night, and when I finished I felt God answer my question through prayer and through a strong feeling of His comforting spirit with me, testifying to me that the Book of Mormon is a divine book of scripture. Knowing that the Book of Mormon is of divine origin proves to me that it's translator, Joseph Smith, was called of God and given the authority to establish Jesus Christ's Church in this day and age. I believe that Joseph Smith was Jesus Christ's prophet, and that he was given the Priesthood authority to perform sacred ordinances, such as baptism for the remission of sins, which are necessary to enter Heaven after this life. I served a mission for the LDS Church in Rome, Italy, where I immediately grew to love the wonderful people of Italy by serving them each day. On my mission my knowledge of the truthfulness of this Church became unshakable, and I will forever know that my Heavenly Father loves each of his children and wants them to return to Him someday. I'm a Mormon because this is the only church which I believe to hold the true authority of God, from God, to act in God's name in establishing His Church and preparing the world for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because it is through this Priesthood authority that I am able to live with my family forever, sealed together as a single unit, so that we can enjoy the eternities after this life together. I'm a Mormon, because it makes me a better husband, father, friend, and human being to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught to me in His Church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those whom I congregate with for church services every Sunday. As a member of my congregation, I help teach Sunday school classes each Sunday to a group of ten year boys and girls. This year we are learning about the New Testament, and thus are learning about the life and mission of Jesus Christ and His Disciples. I love working with these young people because of their simplistic understanding of the scriptures and the teachings of the New Testament. I also have the opportunity to get to know other families in my community by visiting them each month in their homes and discussing how we can make family relationships more loving and fulfilling by applying the teachings of the Church in lives.
