Hi I'm Von

I grew up in Utah, came to Arizona in 1992 on a 5 year plan and never left. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a University of Utah graduate, I've spent over 20 years with Fortune 500 company's in leadership roles. I've hiked the Grand Canyon from rim to rim and peddled my bike down the central California coast. But above all else...I'm a family man. When work is done and the evening come, I pass happy hour right on by and drive home to my family. I've done years and years of elementary through high school homework. Attended a hundred kid concerts and 5 high school graduations...and I wouldn't trade any of them for a night out with the boys. Is it worth it? Yesterday was my birthday and my oldest daughter gave me a card...in it she wrote..."things to tell my dad, he was right about pretty much everything, money really doesn't grow on trees, I was too listening, kids don't forget the good stuff, thanks for the lectures and the love. It sure is! Make every vacation count. Pray with your children, pray for your children. Take them with you wherever you go. Love them and hold them tight. It's worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

An old friend of mine said the Pearl of Great Price was their favorite scripture and said "have you read it." "No" was my reply. "I wish you would" they said. So i did. And as I read I felt the need to say a prayer. I got down on my knees and asked Heavenly Father if what I was reading was true. I received a witness that night, from my Heavenly Father that I have never forgotten and hope I never will.

How I live my faith

I don't always succeed, but I try and make my neighbors feel like they're lucky to have me live next door and in the neighbor hood. I've invited many to come to church and listen to conference and hear the words of the Apostles and Prophets. I've taught years of Sunday school and have been on many a scout camp...and have taken the youth to visit the elderly and shut in. I've changed my life and try to do what Jesus wants me to do...and my life is fuller for it.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Von
Having faith is more then just acknowledging that there is a Jesus. When we have faith, we're willing to do something to act upon that faith. When we say we have faith in Jesus Christ that means we're willing to act like Jesus would have us act and do what Jesus would have us do. When we treat our family members the way Jesus would have us treat them, then our relationships will be blessed and rewarding. Show more Show less
