Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Monica

I'm an ESPN fan. I'm the oldest of four. I'm a returned missionary from the great state of New York, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a senior in college studying journalism. I'm a basketball player, volleyball player, a skier, and a pianist. I have two younger sisters, a younger brother, and a mom and dad that mean the world to me. The best thing they could have done for us growing up is give us life experience. We travel the world together as a family, sing together as a family, but most importantly--attend church, read scriptures, and pray together as a family. That is the key to "getting life experience." You can't experience life without experiencing God. My Heavenly Father means so much to me as He does the same thing as my parents have done, and that is watch over me with care, and treat me as the daughter of God that I have become.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been lucky enough to be born as a member of the Church, already sealed to my parents. But the thing that I have discovered growing up--is that no one is exempt from that opportunity. Everyone will have a chance to learn the Truth for themselves. This gospel is true. It's 100% true, and I'm sure of it. The peaceful feeling that comes with membership in this Church can't be imitated anywhere else. It's that feeling of knowledge that you know you're in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing. I've found that my job as a member is to help others see that joy. I served a full-time mission for the Church in New York for 18 months. Now that I'm home, I can still be a missionary throughout my everyday life by showing this gospel to people that haven't been introduced to this kind of happiness yet. I believe, that once they do, they will get to know our Father on a level they have never experienced. He will show them us the way that we are meant to go, and gently guide is in that direction for a better, eternal, life.

How I live my faith

I believe the best way to live my faith is to serve the people around me. I've found that the joy that comes from making life easier for other people is the greatest way we can serve our Heavenly Father. He put us all down on this earth as friends and family to help lift each other, and to create a better world for ourselves--to connect us to Him. We are His literal sons and daughters, so of course we are his first priority. He wants to give us everything we've ever wanted plus more, but the only way we receive those blessings is to turn and "come unto Him" and to "serve our fellow men." I know for a fact that when I take a load off of someone else, it turns around to make my load that much easier to live with. That reciprocity is Heavenly Father's way of showing us that He loves us with all of His heart. It won't be easy by any means, but I do know that God always, always wants to take the opportunity to bless our lives in a way we could never have imagined.
