Hi I'm Chris

I live in Colorado. I love to write, travel, and attend live music concerts, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy writing and have written poetry for over 25 years. I also enjoy reading mostly suspense thrillers, but some fantasy and science fiction, and the occasional non-fiction and of course the scriptures. I believe there is no end to learning and that reading is just one aspect of that where we can incorporate knowledge gained here with our everyday experiences. I also greatly enjoy music and theater, especially live. I find it a great rush in connecting with the musicians and performers and even the other audience members in something powerful that stimulates the mind, body, and spirit. I love to travel and have had the privilege to visit many places including over 38 U.S. states, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and Sri Lanka. My dream is to visit New Zealand one day and hopefully every continent. I greatly enjoy mingling among different people and cultures to see what experience and knowledge we can share with one another in our respective walks in life. I am a father of two wonderful and beautiful teenage daughters who keep me on my toes. I greatly enjoy doing things with them and hope to have the opportunity to enable them to experience many things I have in my travels and hope they too can have their own great adventures and experiences.

Why I am a Mormon

I 'm a Mormon because through being a member of Christ's church has helped me to know that I am a child of God, who I am, where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going after this life and what I need to do to find not only lasting happiness here on Earth, but to have everlasting happiness in the life to come. I know I have a loving Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me despite my weaknesses and shortcomings. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and died for me and for all that we may all be forigven and made clean through his sacrifice and atonement. I know the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His church has been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith, a humble boy who was simply wanting to know the truth and what church he should join and had the faith and courage to do what he was called to do. He was called of God to translate the Book of Mormon and to help us in knowing lost truths that will enable us to return to our Heavenly Father again. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and has helped me grow closer to Christ as I read, ponder, and live it's principles. I love all the standard works: Book of Mormon, Bible, Doctrine & Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price and strive to read and study their principles daily to strengthen my testimony and commitment to learn and live Christ's teachings. We are lead today by a Prophet of God, Thomas S. Monson who was called by our Heavenly Father to help us know His will today and I strive to not only listen, but to heed his counsel. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's true church and God's Kingdom upon the Earth and is the only church with God's Priesthood and all of Christ's principles and ordinances that can enable us to prepare and progress to become like Him and be with Him again as eternal families.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply striving to be the best person I can be and the person Heavenly Father knows I can be and become. I'm not perfect by any means, but try to treat everyone with love and respect as fellow children of Heavenly Father. I try to be a good example and to serve and help others where I can. I have had the privilege to hold many callings in the church where I have served everyone from men, women, youth, and even toddlers in the nursery and have always strived to do my best with what Heavenly Father has called me to do. I know I still have much to improve upon and to learn, but I know that if I do my best and do what is right, Heavenly Father will bless me with the things that I need. I know I can find true happiness by living the Gospel and making Christ's atonement effective in my life through my faith, repentance, and obedience. No one said it would be easy, but it would be worth it!
