Hi I'm Tami

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mom of four. I am a college graduate, teacher, and high school volleyball coach. I enjoy reading and scrapbooking, both traditional and digital. I like playing games and have a room full of all sorts of board and card games. Much of my time is spent running around after four busy kids!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel gives my life direction. There are so many things in life vying for our attention and distractions that fill our time with meaningless activities. Having the opportunity to attend church on a weekly basis helps to keep me grounded and remind me of what is truly important in life. The weekly activities provide a chance to socialize with people who have similar interests and the support network offered through the church gives me confidence that there is someone close by to help if I were ever to need it. The teachings of the church provide a peacefulness I know I would never be able to find anywhere else. I know who I am and where I came from. I understand my purpose here on earth and have a desire to live righteously so I will be worthy to return to live with God again someday. There are many churches that have parts of the truth, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints contains the whole truth, and is able to bless my life through the power of the priesthood which was restored. Because of the priesthood I know without a doubt that if I live a worthy life my family can be together forever. We will have the opportunity to be together again after this life, and that makes the recent loss of loved ones a little easier to bear.

How I live my faith

I have served in many different organizations in the church. I am currently a primary teacher working with the 11 and 12 year olds, but I spent the last five years in the young women's organization working with 16 and 17 year old girls. Teaching lessons on Sunday gives me the opportunity for focused study and preparation and I find on a regular basis that I am the one who is being taught through this calling. I also help out with the cub scouts, helping to organize the monthly pack meetings. My other calling is as a visiting teacher. My companion and I visit three ladies once a month to leave a short message, visit, and see if we can be of any help to them.
