Hi I'm Tom

I was raised in Utah, I live in Denver and I am a Mormon

About Me

I spend a lot of time in playgrounds. I have, what my grandson calls, the best job in the world. I get to go all over the world and install soft-play playgrounds for little kids. From Seoul, South Korea to Brataslava and hundreds of locations in-between. All aspects of the installation and repair are covered in my job. I was born in Utah and married a sweetheart from high school. We just recently celebrated our 35th anniversary. Three of our four children are married to wonderful spouses that we just love. Our last son is currently in college studying mechanical engineering. I have always been interested in building and creating things. There have been all sorts of wrought iron furniture, custom wind chimes, not to mention all the modifications and renovations to our various homes over the years. For several years I have enjoyed restoring antique cars and trucks. A 1941 Chevrolet named Bessie and my latest, a 1956 Ford pick-up we called the Cicle. I love doing anything with my hands. Over the past 10 years I have become very popular with my family and others because of my cupcakes. They are very tasty and fun. My greatest joy is spending time with my family. We are very close and try to support each other in every activity possible. The love that we all share for each other and the love we each have for the Gospel of Jesus Christ is easily the best aspect of our family

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, as was my wife, so I've always been a mormon. There comes a day however, when you quit living on borrowed light and must make a decision and commitment for yourself. That time for me came as a not so young husband and father. I had always taken for granted that the things i had learned were true but eventually i had to question many things. I spent time studying, and praying, and pondering. I have developed a deep, and secure testimony that this is God's church. I feel that all the scriptures I have read support and verify these beliefs. I am proud to be a Mormon and to stand as a witness for Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

From several weeks into our marriage, i have had callings in the church and have tried to fulfill them to my best ability. I have served in youth programs and scouting for many years, and love the youth of this church. I have had callings with high responsibilities and callings with little responsibility. They are all important. When we were asked some years back during an interview with the Stake President what we've done in the church, my response was "whatever the Lord has asked us to do". I have enjoyed every one of my callings and especially like our current position as Primary Teachers for the 5 year old class. We have just recently been asked to serve as Service Missionaries in the Addiction Recovery Program. In this position we help those struggling to overcome their addictions. These are the jobs I've had in the church but the question "How I Live My Faith" really comes down to the day to day actions that set me apart as a Mormon. My language and actions talk of how I live my faith. We keep the Sabbath Day holy. We avoid inappropriate tv, movies and music. All in all I try to "walk the walk" and not just talk the talk of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
