Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon. I was born a member and have felt the benefits and truths of being LDS my entire life.

About Me

I spent most of my life growing up in the world of video games and so I went and got my AA in Visual Communication and then on to work on my BA in game design. I don't have any kids and I am not yet married but I can't wait for the day it will come. I have a big love for family and can't wait to start one of my own. I am a big movie buff as any one who has seen my collection can attest (over 400 dvds) and love to sing Karaoke on my Playstation 3

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon religion (although we are actually called Latter Day Saints –LDS) and in many ways struggled in my youth to find the truth for myself rather than just be told how it is or what to believe. I was picked on almost daily for being different in many ways growing up and so I spent a great deal of time trying to understand others, why they do the things they do. My favorite scripture is Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. In time I found that in my hardest times of life, when I really needed help the most, the church was there for me. God even saw fit to bestow 3 miracles upon me. Miracle 1: I was driving my parents to the airport after having visited me. With inadequate time to stop my car slammed into the semi and my back end went into the next lane where my trunk was promptly destroyed by another semi truck. My car went spinning out of control between the two semi trucks like a spinning pinball. The first cop on the scene immediately called the coroner because he didn’t think anyone could have survived just looking at the car. Miracle 2: I had everything packed in a moving truck outside, ready to drive 860 miles to Colorado Springs when I had a general seizure. Had the seizure come just 5 minutes later I would have been on the freeway with all of my stuff in a 14’ truck unable to let go of the gas and pressing it all the way down & unable to let go of the steering wheel shaking back and forth wildly and uncontrollably. It would have been certain death for me and perhaps others near me on the road. Miracle 3: The doctors told me before going in for brain surgery that there was a chance I would be paralyzed on my right side or even not regain consciousness. When I woke up from surgery I was 100% paralyzed on the right side of my body, I couldn’t even feed myself. Just one month later, I walked unassisted to the pulpit in church and gave my testimony of the church.

How I live my faith

Service is a big deal for me. I have been helped by the church and its members in so many ways and service is just one way I can pay it forward so to speak. I have done many service projects as well as babysit, help others with their computers and fix up old family photos for family history. Some people sell their stuff when it’s no longer needed/wanted. I prefer to donate things to Deseret Industries (or D.I. to Mormons) which is like a garage sale for the church. It helps raise money for the churchs welfare and humanitarian needs as well as jobs. When the time comes that I begin a family then I will strive to get them involved in service as well for what better time is spent than to help out your fellow man?
