Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a consultant, an Air Force Vet, a wife, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a systems improvement consultant working with companies and the military to enable them to reach their goals. I've been married for 26 years to one of the best men I've ever met. My job enables me to travel to clients' sites and, when not traveling, to work from home doing support, development, and preparation work. I love to read, doing computer work, cooking, baking, and entertaining. I also love supporting my husband's photography hobby by being his driver and spotter!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a very Catholic family with Catholic school education for grade school and one-year of college. During my middle and high school years, I attended CCD classes every week. I am so grateful to that strong-valued upbringing as its given me a wonderful foundation. However, as I got older, some things seemed to be missing. I had a 40-year journey of promptings from the Holy Spirit that I wasn't quite ready to listen to. Finally this past year, the voice became so strong that I am certain this Church is the right one. For a long time I was concerned about how this Church viewed the role of women - my time on active-duty in our Air Force convinced me of the value women can provide in service to our country and community. This Church more than any other views men and women as equals, and relies on the strength each person brings to the community. i do believe this Church is a direct follow-on to the one Jesus Christ began with the 12 Apostles. I do believe that Joseph Smith was given the power to translate the Book of Mormon by the Holy Ghost. I do believe the Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Since my husband and I are "empty nesters", we try to stay active with other couples that don't have children living with them - doing "family-type" outings. We also spend as much time as possible with families with small children, standing in as surrogate aunt and uncle or grandparents. Our lives are so blessed by being able to spend time with others who share our values and beliefs. When hard times hit, there is always someone to help you get through it and pray with you. I've been called to be the newsletter editor for our women's group. It's a perfect fit for me as I can do this whether I'm home or on the road and it plays to my computer strengths and talents.
