Hi I'm Derrick Webb

I grew up in Wyoming. I went to college at a Baptist college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with three brothers in Wyoming. We love to do anything outdoors. Camping, hiking, hunting...I really enjoy going into the mountains and riding ATVs (four wheelers). It is great just being in the wide open and not having a worry in the world. My job has brought me to Lincoln Nebraska, it is not as mountainous, but just as wide open. Growing up wuth 6 people in my family seemed to be a large family, I don't know what I would do without any of my brothers. I guess that is why I find myself with such a large family now. I married a beautiful woman who had three children when we married, and we have added two more to the bunch! Families are the best resource to fall back on any time that you need an honest opinion, or just someone to pass the time with. We always make each other laugh :)

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of this church, but that doesn't mean that it has always been easy. Like I said earlier I attended a Baptist college, I went there on a scholarship. I had many friends and class mates ask me why I was Mormon and that is when I really I had to find out for myself what I believed. I actually started to pay attention during meetings and reading scriptures with a purpose. It wasn't just to please my parents, or get a good grade in semonary, it was to see if I really did believe in what my parents taught me. I know that Jesus has a church here on earth and that He leads His church through a living prophet. Just like the prophets of old, Jesus talks with them to direct all of us here on earth. God loves us and will bless us with all we need, that doesn't mean he will just give to us, we have to work too. Sometimes the work that God requires of us may seem unfair, but the blessings that he poors out for just keeping His comandments is unimaginable!

How I live my faith

Currently the best thing that I can do for my church is to teach my 5 beautiful children. We have regular family scripture study, every night, and we pray together too. This is some of the most enjoyable times to spend as a family. The questions that kids come up with and watching them process and understand the answers are unforgettable moments. I also go to church weekly and serve others there as well. Organizing activities and making sure Sunday school lessons are prepared are a few of the things that I do. Every once in a while I will teach men of my age as well.
