Hi I'm Bud

I'm a Mormon. I have been a member of the church all of my life. My ancestors came over with the early pioneers.

About Me

I am the father of 3 wonderful daughters, I have been married to the same beautiful lady for almost 25 years. I run the accounting department for a national trucking/crane company. I am a work-a-holic (according to my wife and kids). I enjoy spending time with my family especially on the beaches of Oregon or Hawaii. My family also enjoys spending time together, even including my teenage daughters. We also spend time watching video's together as a family. Some of our favorites are old reruns of the Cosby show, I Love Lucy, and Home improvement. I enjoy being surrounded by women, so I spend a lot of time watching "chick flick's", but have I have convinced my girls to enjoy a good football game or an action movie.

Why I am a Mormon

My family converted to Mormonism in the early 1830's so I started going to the church from the time I was born. I have never really left the church, but I was not always converted to every aspect of the gospel. As you can see from my "about me" section, I am deeply devoted to my family. They mean the world to me and I would do anything for them. As a Mormon, we believe in Eternal Families, which means I can have my family with me for eternity, which gives meaning to my life and joy through thy trying times. I also enjoy having a "ward family" which means wherever I move (which I have done recently) I have a ward that will help me get adjusted to my new area. I have Home Teachers and Visiting Teachers, that will be there if my family ever needs something. I also have people who share my same beliefs and values who I can associate with. I also get the comfort of knowing my children and wife will be watched over if I am ever away. I also know that my Father in Heaven loves me and knows who I am individually. I have seen his miracles in my life ranging from healings, to understanding, to gentle correction whenever I am out of line.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to serve people I associate with, regardless of their religion, beliefs or ideals. Last March I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to spend 10 days serving the orphans of Guatemala with my eldest daughter. We went with a group of dentists, dental assistants and others who volunteered their time, paid their own way, including taking 1,000's of dollars of their own money or donated goods, and ultimately provide many hours of service to help others, yet my daughter and I were the ones truly blessed. On a regular basis I get the opportunity to help others closer to home. I am currently teaching the 11 year old boys in my ward. We are studying the New Testament and learning about Jesus and all that he did for us. Hopefully this will teach the boys that they can always turn to the Heavenly Father or Jesus when they need help or are discouraged. I love the opportunities to serve given to me each day as a member of this church.
