Hi I'm Fernando

I grew up in Brazil but I live in the United States. I design mines around the world. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happily married to my wonderful wife and have five children (all boys). I grew up in Brazil and my family moved to the US when I was 16 years old. I was the first family member to graduate from college. I have two degrees, mining engineering and a MBA. I played college basketball and love to play volleyball, swim, fishing, watch movies and sports. I love my what I do for a living. I design mines around the world which helps bring many jobs to different communities. This brings joy in what I do. I love being a dad and a husband. My family is very important to me and I love them so much. I love Christmas time because it is a time when we can see family, be with them and chat for hours and hours.

Why I am a Mormon

The Mormon church teaches gospel principles that focus on family unity, truth, positive and clean living, helping other people by serving them without ever receiving anything back and many more teachings that helps me and my family be better citizens of this great nation. The Mormon church basis everything on family and living a clean life. I know that the teachings from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are true and they are not made up. These teachings come directly from Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost and they are here so they can be a guide so we can return to live with Them someday. I believe it with all my heart and that is why I am a member of this church. Nobody has forced me to stay with this church and I gained a personal testimony of the truthfulness of its teaching by asking Heavenly Father if they are true. I received a calm and assuring feeling that it is. Because of my testimony of the church I decided to serve a full time mission for two years so I could tell about Jesus and His church.

How I live my faith

One of the most rewarding parts of being a Mormon is that we are asked to serve in the church callings and the community without getting paid. Its all volunteer work. Currently I am one of the Boy Scout leaders in my congregation. I love it because I am helping young men to learn important skills that will enable them to be successful members of the society. I love reading the scriptures because it is a guide of how we should live. I also love visiting other families in our community and serving them.
