Hi I'm Alex

I served 20 years in the US Navy, spent some time as a long haul truck driver, and now drive a school bus. And, yes I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a first generation immigrant along with my older brother and my parents who are now deceased. My family arrived in the States in 1959. I attended parochial school from K-12. I am a pioneer of sorts. I'm the only one to serve in the military, I'm the only that has converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the only one to be a grandfather at a very early age.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined this Church because of the pattern followed as Jesus' Church in ancient times. Jesus had apostles, we have apostles. Jesus had seventies to preach, we seventies. Jesus had bishops to administer his branches, we have bishops as well. Also the LDS Church teaches we still have living prophets as times of old. We have a President and two counselors who preside over the entire church. Even as a child I remember watching General Conference on out local TV station. And in my 20-year service in the Navy, I was privileged to become acquainted with many LDS families, so my curiosity grew until I finally took the Discussions and was baptized. Five months later I got married to a wonderful LDS woman and 23 years later we are still in married bliss and are the proud grandparents of 19 and great-grandparents of three.

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve as a high councilor twice, a high priest group leader twice, Sunday School teacher and Sunday School President, Family History Consultant, Ward Membership and Financial Clerk and currently I serve as a second counselor in a branch that ministers to incarcerated members and investigators.
