Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a Mormon. I was raised in the Catholic Church; however, eight years ago, I made the change that saved my life.

About Me

I am a wife of a non-member who hasn't joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but he is the one who encourages me to attend as he tells me I am a happier person since I joined. I am a mother of two young men, one in the work force and one a senior at Tulane University. I am a teacher of fifth graders, and this year is my 30th year teaching. I love my job and my students. I love to read, go to movies, and ride my "old-ladies bike." I am an eight-year member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have never been happier.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know it is right. In these times of trouble, I do not believe in a God who would leave us alone, unguided. He has provided us with a living prophet as he has before. I know this prophet is here to guide me to return to live with my Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon because as an outsider, and now a member, I witnessed the way that Mormon's follow the commandments. It isn't a Sunday or holiday type of religion. In fact, for me, sometimes it is too much work, but in the end, I know it is right and that the choices I make today will effect me for eternity.

How I live my faith

My faith has been rocked lately, but I have returned to The Church of Latter Day Saints. I know it is the place for me to be most happy. During my wandering, my home teachers and visiting teachers stayed with me - not pressuring - but caring for me. I can live my faith because others have demonstrated their faith to me.
